Horizon Health Provider Emphasizes Prevention, Patient Education

Tory Keefer’s approach to healthcare is straightforward: prevent problems before they start and educate patients about what they need to know to be healthy.

“I use a checklist with every patient to ensure they receive health education and understand prevention techniques, such as vaccinations and screenings,” said Tory, a family nurse practitioner in the Paris Clinic.

Tory provides a full-scope of family medicine. Her medical interests include women’s health and managing chronic conditions, such as high blood pressure/cholesterol, diabetes, and arthritis. Her interests include geriatric medicine.

“As people age, their healthcare requires a more comprehensive approach,” Tory explained. “Bone and heart health are important. Kidney and liver function must be considered when prescribing since the body metabolizes medications differently as we age.”
