Senior Care, a service of Horizon Health, welcomes Brittney Isom, MSW, LSW, as a full-time therapist to its team of behavior health professionals.

Brittney, of Terre Haute, Ind., is a licensed social worker with a master’s degree in social work. She is one of two therapists at Senior Care, joining Connie Rhoads, licensed clinical social worker. Together they provide individual, group, and family counseling to Senior Care patients.

“I think people have experiences in their life that direct them toward a career that they can be passionate about, which is what happened for me,” Brittney said.

Prior to Senior Care, Brittney provided hospice services as a social worker and bereavement coordinator. Her experience includes home-based therapy for children and families and educating families about child development as a family support specialist.

Brittney earned her master’s degree in social work from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. She has a bachelor’s degree in social work from Indiana State University.

In 2016, Brittney participated in a four-month internship program at Senior Care, where she helped facilitate group therapy sessions. During other internship programs she provided support for terminally ill patients and those diagnosed with dementia. She recently returned to Senior Care in a full-time capacity “to work with great people and patients again,” she said.

“Senior Care and Horizon Health have such a great atmosphere. They truly care about their community, which is something I wanted to be a part of,” Brittney explained.

In her spare time, Brittney enjoys watching movies and TV episodes on Netflix, being outdoors, and playing slow pitch softball.
