Paris Community Hospital/Medical Center continues to receive national recognition for providing high-quality diabetes care.

The diabetes education program at PCH/FMC recently was re-awarded recognition from the American Diabetes Association (ADA) for its high-quality education of diabetes self-management, which is an essential component of effective diabetes treatment.

Additionally, Leland Phipps, MD, medical director of the PCH/FMC diabetes education program, has received recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Diabetes Recognition Program, which acknowledges clinicians who use evidence-based measures and provide excellent care to their diabetic patients.

ADA Recognition

PCH/FMC’s diabetes education program has been an ADA-recognized program since 2001, which means it continues to meet the American Diabetes Association’s National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education Programs.

A team of healthcare professionals at PCH/FMC develop individual treatment plans, following ADA standards of care for each patient. Diabetes-related services at PCH/FMC consist of diabetes management, nutrition education/counseling, and wound care.

Dr. Phipps Recognition

Dr. Phipps has received recognition from NCQA’s Diabetes Recognition Program (DRP) six consecutive times.

According to NCQA: “Those who achieve DRP Recognition show their peers, patients, and others in the diabetes community that they are part of an elite group that is publicly recognized for their skill in providing the highest-level diabetes care.”
