07/14/2017

To help prepare children for the upcoming school year, Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center will sponsor its third annual “Back to School Bang” on Saturday, August 5. This highly interactive health and wellness expo will take place from 9 am to 1 pm in the Paris Family Medical Center.

The free event will feature interactive displays and health information from more than 10 local organizations, plus multiple departments of the hospital. School physicals, sports physicals, and immunizations are optional and normal copays for services provided will apply.

Participating organizations will include the Paris Fire Department, Edgar County Shrine Club, Bee Well of Edgar County, Tri County Dental Clinic, Edgar County Lions Club, Edgar County Health Department, and more. The Air Evac helicopter is scheduled to attend as well.

New this year are free dental exams provided by Paris Family Dental. These exams fulfill the requirement for registering children for school.

Other attractions will include games, giveaways, a free photo booth, and face painting. The PCH Rehabilitation Services Department will offer free baseline concussion screenings for all athletes and an obstacle course. Attendees will be eligible to receive free school supplies.

Optional school/sports physicals and immunizations will be available from 9 am to noon. Participants should bring their insurance card, immunization records, and appropriate school forms. Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
