Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center is pleased to welcome Manish Gorasiya, MD, as a full-time provider in the Paris Family Medical Center.

Dr. Gorasiya is a board-certified family practice physician. He sees patients of all ages with all types of health conditions, from newborn and well-baby visits to geriatric patients. His medical interests include diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), hypertension, and geriatric medicine.

When asked about his interest in Paris and rural medicine in general, Dr. Gorasiya stated: “Though I grew up in a city, I developed a fascination with my father’s village.” He recalled a lack of healthcare in the village following a flood that left many people sick. Much of this illness could have been prevented with better access to healthcare.

Dr. Gorasiya earned his medical degree at Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research in Surat, India. He earned a master’s in public health degree in epidemiology from Florida International University in Miami, Fla. Often called “the cornerstone” of public health, epidemiology is the study and control of disease or injury patterns in human populations.

Prior to joining PCH/FMC on July 15, Dr. Gorasiya completed his medical residency through the Montgomery Family Medicine Residency Program in Montgomery, Ala., where he also performed medical rounds at a 90-bed nursing home. His wife, Sneha Patel, is a registered nurse pursuing her education as a family nurse practitioner.

In his spare time, Dr. Gorasiya enjoys cricket, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, dancing, music, movies, and reality shows. He is a personal friend of Dr. Kumar Sodvadiya, family practice physician who joined PCH/FMC in September 2014. The two doctors attended the same medical school.

Dr. Gorasiya is located in Suite I in the Paris Family Medical Center. His office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 am to 5 pm; and Wednesday from 8 am to noon. For appointments, call (217) 463-1946.
