Horizon Health offers classes for the general public, as well as healthcare
professionals.

Safe Sitter Class
Safe Sitter is a nationally recognized class that provides babysitters
with basic safe child care techniques so they are prepared to act in a
crisis. The class provides tips on safety and security precautions, facts
about child development and age-appropriate activities, and explains the
business aspects of babysitting.
The cost covers materials and lunch. No parent is required to be present
except for picking up and dropping off the child. Register early as class
size is limited.
Cost: $50
Who should take this course? Boys and girls ages 11-13.
The 20-week course will take place on Mondays and Thursdays, from 5 to
9 pm, beginning September 14, 2026, at the
Horizon Health Education Center.
Cost: $1,000
Includes student polo shirt for clinical hours, student workbook, drug
screen, and background check.
Covers your first exam attempt through the National Registry.
What to Know
A pre-screening aptitude test will be given prior to your acceptance into
the program. After applying, please call the instructor to schedule this test.
Internet access is required, as this is a hybrid course.
Applicants will be screened prior to being accepted into the class, which
may include a brief meeting or phone interview. Cannot be a convicted
felon and must be up to date on immunizations prior to the start of class.

This free non-healthcare provider course teaches basic cardiopulmonary
resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automated external defibrillator
(AED), which is used in cases of life-threatening cardiac events. This
course does not include first aid, which can be arranged separately. Note
that a credit or debit card is required when registering to reserve a
class seat. Classes are held at the
Horizon Health Education Center in Paris, Illinois,
Sycamore Pain & Wellness in Terre Haute, Indiana, as well as other advertised locations.
Who should take this course? Anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion
card to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

First Responder Class
Participants will earn certification as a first responder. Internet access
is required, as this is a hybrid course. CPR and BLS certifications are
included in the course. Registration is open to anyone age 16 and older.

Basic Life Support (BLS)- Heartcode
This hybrid (online & in-person learning), renewal course trains participants
to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality
chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early
use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). All participants must
take the AHA online course & provide proof of certification.
Cost: $25
Who should take this course? Healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform
CPR, and other basic cardiovascular life support skills, in a wide variety
of in-facility and prehospital settings.

cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies, as well as
emergency response personnel.
