Local Organizations Support Free Foot Care Clinic

Donations made to Horizon Health Foundation

The community put its best foot forward to support Horizon Health’s free Foot Care Clinic April 6 in Paris.

The Paris Rotary Club and the United Methodist Men supported the annual event with monetary gifts to the Horizon Health Foundation. First Christian Church in Paris donated all the children’s shoes, which were provided to participants at no cost.

“You should give back to your community, whether its 100 people or 1 million,” said Duke Jones, United Methodist Men member.

The annual Foot Care Clinic – held on Holy Thursday – provides residents of the High Rise and Highland Court with free foot care, including new shoes and socks. The event has been expanded over the years, allowing the general public to attend.

“The community support for this event has been tremendous,” said Randi Bohannon Foundation Executive Director. “Every gift goes into a designated fund that is specific to supporting the Foot Care Clinic.”

At the event, Drs. Brittany Wojnicki and Philip Holloway, Horizon Health podiatrists, wash feet, trim nails, and make referrals for further foot care, if needed.

Dr. Wojnicki established the Foot Care Clinic when she joined Horizon Health in 2020. She initiated a similar event during medical residency, which she led for three years. Dr. Wojnicki said the Kiwanis Club in her hometown of Orland Park, Illinois, also donated to the April 6 foot clinic.
