Horizon Health Hosts 12th Annual 'Back to School Bang'

To help prepare children for the upcoming school year, Horizon Health will host its 12th annual “Back to School Bang” on Friday, August 7. This free, interactive health and wellness event will take place from 4:30 to 7:30 pm on the Horizon Health main campus in Paris. An after-party will follow from 7:30 to 8:30 pm.

The event will feature interactive exhibits and health information from more than 15 local organizations, along with several Horizon Health departments. Participating organizations will include the Paris Fire Department, Paris Police Department, the People Encouraging Remarkable Kids (PERK) Mentoring Program, Longview Bank, Edgar County Lions Club (offering free hearing and vision screenings), Edgar County Health Department, and more.

Guests can also enjoy the popular Touch a Truck attraction, featuring a variety of large trucks and specialty vehicles. Children and families will have the opportunity to climb inside, explore the vehicles, and even honk the horns.

Other attractions will include an interactive build-your-own first-aid kit, inflatable slide, games, giveaways, a free photo booth, face painting, bubble station, and obstacle course provided by Horizon Health Rehab. The first 500 school-aged children who participate in the event will receive free school supplies.
