Dr. Helfer is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology with more than 20 years of experience. She diagnoses, treats, and manages a variety of gynecologic conditions in adolescents and adults, offering contraception management, menopause and hormonal management, and more.

is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist with 30 years of experience. She joined Horizon Health in February 2019. She operated a successful private practice in Charleston, Ill., for 18 and-a-half years. She also provided full-range OB/GYN services at two hospitals in Chicago’s northern suburbs for five years.

She performs numerous common and advanced surgical procedures, including diagnostic dilation and curettage (D&C), hysterectomy, laparoscopic sterilization (tubal ligation), pelvic floor and reconstructive surgery, and endometrial ablation.

offers a full scope of women’s services from wellness exams to complex surgical procedures for patients of all ages. Her services include contraception management, D & C of the uterus, laparoscopic tubal ligation, minimally invasive hysterectomy, and fertility testing. Other services include pre-conceptual counseling and premenstrual dysphoric disorder, as well as addressing abnormal pap smears.
