Can rural healthcare rival urban?

We think so, and here’s why.

Is it true that exceptional healthcare can only be achieved at a big-city hospital? Horizon Health doesn’t think so.

We continue to build on our 50-year tradition of trusted healthcare in Paris, Illinois and surrounding communities. Listening to our patients, medical providers, and community members has provided us with valuable insight and guidance along our healthcare journey.

Providing convenient access to medical specialists and investing in the latest equipment and technology – all while delivering genuine, personalized care – has made us what we are today.

Access

We offer services similar to those of a larger hospital, but without the hassle. Getting the healthcare you need is easy at our three primary care clinics and two convenient care clinics (EZ Care). Need a medical specialist? No problem. Our team of specialists is ready to assist you.

Shorter wait times – Seeing a medical provider at Horizon Health is quick and easy. Our 48 full-time providers offer a wide range of services, with wait times well below national averages. In many cases, appointments are available the same day. And, our average wait time to see a doctor after arriving at the emergency room is seven minutes – well below the national median wait time of 30 minutes (CDC: 2010-2011). The average wait time for specialist care is two weeks, which is much shorter than those seen in urban areas.

And, when you come to our campus, you will never pay to park. As an added convenience, our Patient Transport Team is available to help you to and from your vehicle, and throughout our facility.

Access to many specialized services – Our medical team includes 17 full-time specialists in cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, pain management, podiatry, wound care, and urogynecology. Additionally, visiting providers in 11 specialties provide services on a weekly or monthly basis. Technology

We have invested in the latest technology to ensure you receive the highest quality healthcare. If a higher level of care is warranted, we have you covered. We are part of an advanced digital network that quickly transfers radiology images to another healthcare facility, saving you time and ensuring the best outcome.

Most up-to-date medical equipment– Our advanced CT machine (CAT scan) can detect and diagnose a variety of health conditions, from orthopedic injuries to lung problems and more. Our three-dimensional (3D) mammography is the latest screening tool for breast cancer, and can perform stereotactic breast biopsies – a non-surgical method for assessing breast abnormalities.

Close to home – At Horizon Health, you don’t have to travel far to experience state-of-the-art operating suites, a full-time MRI, and on-site laboratory testing.

Genuine, Personalized Care

As healthcare changes, our rural values remain the same. We collaborate with communities and business partners to help determine the direction of local healthcare going forward. Our community health needs assessment (CHNA), performed every three years, identifies key health needs and issues that are important to you. It is this personalized approach that has made us your trusted healthcare provider of choice.
