Welcomes New EZ Care Manager

The EZ Care walk-in clinic, a service of Horizon Health, is now open at its permanent location along Route 1 South, across from the industrial park in Paris.

EZ Care had been operating out of a temporary, portable building since January 2017 after being relocated from Horizon Health’s main medical campus. The permanent EZ Care structure was built on land adjacent to the portable building, and has a new address of 1 Phipps Lane. The EZ Care building also houses the NAL Health Clinic, a service of Horizon Health, which is dedicated solely to NAL employees and their families.

“EZ Care has been very well received since it started as a weekend-only clinic in 2011,” said Oliver Smith, Horizon Health president & CEO. “Moving the service offsite gave us the additional space we needed at our main medical campus. It also dedicated more space to EZ Care, which proved beneficial as the service continued to grow.”

The new EZ Care includes X-ray services. Lab samples can be taken onsite, though actual testing is performed at the Paris Community Hospital lab.

EZ Care consists of the following providers:

  • Carrie Cunningham, family nurse practitioner and clinic manager
  • Jackie Coffman, physician assistant
  • Jolena Martin, physician assistant
  • Sneha Patel, family nurse practitioner
  • Matt Woodruff, physician assistant
  • Mallory Cook, family nurse practitioner (coming in the fall)
  • Michelle Miller, family nurse practitioner (coming in the fall)

“We thank everyone for their patience during our transition to the new facility,” said Tiffany Turner, Horizon Health’s chief nursing officer. “We are still working through some of the details that come with such a transition. But EZ Care now has a permanent home that will continue to serve our communities for years to come.”

EZ Care treats minor, non-emergency health conditions such as ear, nose, and throat infections; flu symptoms; pink eye; rashes; minor lacerations; simple fractures; and burns. Some minor procedures can be performed.

EZ Care is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 7 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. The clinic is open 362 days a year, closed only on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
