Horizon Health Podiatrist Earns Advanced Certification
Horizon Health podiatrist Dr. Brittany Wojnicki continues to strengthen local healthcare through her commitment to professional excellence, recently earning dual board certification in podiatric medicine and surgery.
Dr. Wojnicki recently achieved board certification through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS). This certification reflects the successful completion of rigorous medical training, comprehensive written and simulation-based examinations, and an extensive review of her surgical case experience.
“Earning this additional certification reflects my commitment to providing the highest level of care to the communities we serve,” said Dr. Wojnicki. “Access to specialized foot and ankle care is essential, especially in rural areas, and I am proud to continue bringing advanced treatment options close to home.”
Since completing her residency training in 2020, Dr. Wojnicki has also maintained board certification through the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM). By earning certification from both the ABPM and ABFAS, she has achieved dual diplomate status, demonstrating advanced expertise in both surgical and non-surgical foot and ankle care.
Dr. Wojnicki joined Horizon Health in 2020 as a surgical podiatrist, bringing expertise in diabetic foot reconstruction and other foot-related surgical procedures. She also provides care in the Horizon Health Wound Center, which treats chronic and/or non-healing wounds.
As a dedicated advocate for her community, Dr. Wojnicki established an annual foot care clinic to provide local residents with access to routine foot and ankle care. She modeled the free event after a charitable program she and her husband founded in 2018. She also advanced patient care by introducing the use of Atlantic cod fish skin to treat diabetic wounds, earning international recognition for her innovative work.
