Horizon Health Offers Safe Sitter Class in October

Horizon Health will offer its final Safe Sitter class of 2026 on Monday, October 12. The class will take place from 8:30am to 3pm at the Horizon Health Education Center, 15197 US Highway 150, in Paris. 

Safe Sitter is a nationally recognized program for boys and girls ages 11-13. The class teaches children home-alone safety skills when caring for themselves, younger siblings, or while babysitting. 

The class covers safety and security precautions, child development and age-appropriate activities, as well as the business aspects of babysitting. Other benefits include enhanced self-esteem, introductory employment skills, personal safety and other life skills.

The cost is $50 per person and includes class materials and lunch. A parent or guardian is not required to remain on-site during the class; they are only required to drop off and pick up their child.
