About the provider

Dr. Hachem joined Horizon Health in 2022. He is board certified in general surgery. He is fellowship-trained in advanced, minimally invasive general surgery/bariatric surgery (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center).

Dr. Hachem performs a full scope of general surgeries, including hernia repair, colonoscopies, bowel/colon surgery, and gallbladder, spleen, and appendix removal. He provides treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)/heart burn.

Over the past two decades, Dr. Hachem has performed more than 1,500 weight loss surgeries. He performs gastric bypass, adjustable gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, duodenal switch, and single anastomosis duodeno-ileostomy (SADI) procedures. All of these options help patients achieve their weight loss and metabolic goals.

Prior to Horizon Health, Dr. Hachem was the chief general surgeon in Junction City, Kansas, a city of 23,000 people located west of Kansas City. Dr. Hachem is credited with creating the hospital’s first bariatric specialty service.
