Bee Well to Hold Free Fun Runs

06/23/2017

Beginning Tuesday, July 11, Bee Well of Edgar County will host free weekly Fun Runs for kids. The second annual Fun Runs will be held on July 11, 18; and August 1, 8, 9. Runs will begin at 6:30 pm at West Lake Park in Paris (south side, by the horseshoe pits).

Kids of all ages are welcome to participate in the runs, which range from 30 yards to one mile. The last week of Fun Runs will have two runs, with the grand finale on Wednesday, August 9.

“We are thrilled to continue these Fun Runs even though our grant was not renewed from last year,” said Erin Frank, Bee Well member. “We are looking forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces along with some new ones.”

Enroll in the Fun Run text club to receive up-to-date details about the program, including additional information and cancellations. Text the message FUNRUN to 36000.

If you or your business is interested in helping sponsor the runs, please contact Mary Liz Wright at maryliz@illinois.edu. All sponsors will be included on a promotional item that will be given to each participant.

Bee Well of Edgar County is a community wellness coalition formed in response to health rankings published by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (2014), stating that Edgar County ranked 62 out of the 102 counties in Illinois for overall health. Since its inception in fall 2014, the group has worked to promote wellness throughout Edgar County.
