PCH/FMC to Host Free Diabetes Program Nov. 16


In recognition of American Diabetes Month, Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center will host its annual diabetes education program on Wednesday, November 16.

This free program titled “No Sugarcoating . . . The Simple Truths About Diabetes Management and Medications” will take place at 6 pm (CST) in the Paris Family Medical Center. It is for individuals with diabetes, pre-diabetes, family members of diabetics, and anyone who is interested in learning more about the topic.

The featured speaker will be Edward Rico, MD, MBA, endocrinologist. An endocrinologist studies the glands and hormones of the body and their related disorders, and is the specialist that manages the care for diabetic patients. 

Dr. Rico earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He completed fellowship training in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield.

Beginning December 1, Dr. Rico will become a full-time employee of PCH/FMC.
