Horizon Health is now offering family medicine services at its Marshall Clinic, located at 1000 North 2nd Street in Marshall, Illinois.
Family medicine is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, from 8 am to 5 pm; and Wednesday, from 7 am to 4 pm. Appointments are required. The Marshall Clinic also houses EZ Care, a non-emergency medical clinic that treats minor health conditions on a first-come, first served basis.
Family medicine treats a full range of medical issues with a focus on health and wellness. It offers general healthcare for the entire family, from children to adults, and addresses both ongoing conditions as well as urgent, short-term needs.
The Marshall family medicine service provides point-of-care testing, allowing for several simple tests to be performed onsite. This includes rapid strep tests, rapid influenza tests, and urine dipstick tests. School and sports physicals are available.
“The Marshall Clinic is unique to the Horizon Health family of services. It offers family medicine and an EZ Care clinic in the same physical building, which is an added convenience for patients,” explained Lacey Stults, Horizon Health vice president of clinic operations.
Meet Mallory Simonton
Family medicine may be Horizon Health’s newest addition to the Marshall community, but the service’s primary care provider is a familiar face.
Mallory Simonton, family nurse practitioner, is the full-time family medicine provider. A Marshall native, Mallory joined Horizon Health in 2018 as an advanced practice provider at the Marshall EZ Care clinic.
"I am very excited about this new opportunity,” Mallory said. “As a Marshall resident, it is important to me to provide the best healthcare possible for the people of my community.”
Mallory became a nurse practitioner in August 2017. Prior to Horizon Health, she worked as an emergency room nurse/nurse practitioner in Terre Haute. She has a master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in nursing from Indiana State University.
EZ Care Marshall
With the transition of Mallory Simonton to family medicine, Lori Carpenter and Natasha Morgan are the full-time providers at EZ Care. Both are family nurse practitioners and Marshall natives.
EZ Care treats minor illnesses and non-emergent conditions, such as ear, nose and throat infections, flu symptoms, pink eye, rashes, simple burns, and bug bites. An appointment is not required. EZ Care is open Monday–Friday, from 9 am–7 pm, and weekends, from 8 am–4 pm, closing only on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. X-ray and lab services are also available.
The Marshall Clinic is located next to the Willowbrook memory care/assisted living facility, which Horizon Health acquired last year. In addition to Marshall, Horizon Health offers family medicine services in Paris, Chrisman, Oakland, Tilton, and Terre Haute.
