The Swing Bed Program at Horizon Health is for patients who no longer require
acute or skilled hospitalization. This program, sometimes referred to
as "private pay," is custodial – meaning patients receive
assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing and
meals, that do not require a licensed, trained individual.
Services and amenities provided beyond ADLs, include the following:
Group activities, led by the activities director
24-hour nursing care with physician onsite
Nurses assigned to patients daily
Care plan conferences
Access to fully equipped and staffed therapy department
Monthly physician visits
Room-service dining
Housekeeping services
Constant communication with patients and their families
Discharge planning services
Swing Bed Care is sometimes compared to nursing home care. However, there
are a number of key differences, which include the following:

Spacious private rooms
Private baths
Easy access to local physicians
