Operation: H.E.A.L. (Healthcare Education and Leadership) is a three-day program open to incoming freshmen through graduating seniors. Participants will learn about a wide range of healthcare career opportunities from professionals across various fields while taking part in hands-on activities.

The program will take place at two Horizon Health locations:

The following Horizon Health departments will offer presentations and demonstrations:

  • Nursing
  • Medical/Surgical (inpatient unit)
  • Respiratory
  • Radiology
  • Laboratory
  • Rehabilitation Services
  • Emergency Department
  • Emergency Medical Services/Ambulance
  • Clinic Specialty Services

  • Pharmacy

Hands-on activities will utilize medical training models and simulations and include:

  • Medication compounding
  • Sutures
  • Blood draw

Horizon Health will also offer optional blood typing to help students learn their blood type (A, B, AB, or O; positive or negative).

The three-day program includes lunch each day and a T-shirt. Space is limited to 20 students. Register by May 23 at MyHorizonHealth.org/OperationHeal.
