Open Access Colonoscopy
No Medical Order Required for Those Who Qualify
Open access means you can schedule a colonoscopy online without a medical order. Open access is available for those who meet the following criteria:
- Age 45 to 75
- No prior history of abnormal colonoscopies or colon surgery
- No history of cardiac disease (excluding high blood pressure)
- No severe pulmonary conditions
- No active GI symptoms
- Controlled diabetes (A1c less than 8.5)
- No anticoagulants (blood thinners)

Colonoscopy is the gold standard for colon cancer screening. It allows your doctor to inspect the inside of your colon, also called the large intestine, and remove any potentially pre-cancerous polyps for further testing.
